1. Session : The academic session begins from 1st week of April and the ends on 31st March of the year.

The school follows the syllabus designed by NCERT in all its levels viz. Pre-Primary, Primary , Secondary and Senior Secondary under the aegis of Central Board of Secondary Education.

The school prepares its students for appearing at AISSE(X) and AISSCE(XII) conducted by CBSE, New Delhi after which they successfully get through competitive examinations such as IIT-JEE, CPMT, PMT, PET etc.

A unidirectional teaching method is being increasingly substituted by a multidirectional group workshop method. Here the teacher becomes the group co-ordinator initiating work, nurturing students without the phobia of examinations and homework. Development of oral and written expression is emphasized upon. Home assignments are not a carry-over of classwork but oriented towards enriching individual talents.

O.P. Jindal School, Patratu is affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) New Delhi, which is the largest educational Board in the country.

The School has students enrolled from LKG to Class XII. In the XI and XII, all the students prepare for the All India Senior School Certificate Examination (also a national examination) for their respective final years. The students are offered the following combinations of subjects:

· Science: English Core, Hindi Core/ Informatics Practices/ Physical Education, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology

· Commerce: English Core, Hindi Core, Economics, Accountancy, Business Studies, Informatics Practices

2. Schedule for the Examination :

A. The school conducts test in one subject every Monday as per schedule published in the school diary. The Monday tests are also very important and compulsory. The school will not conduct tests separately for any student under any circumstance and no request for the same from the Parents/Students will be entertained.

B. The Two Terminal Examinations are conducted as per the schedule published in the school diary.

C. The result of Annual Examination is published in the last week of March. The dates for Final Examination & declaration of results for classes X & XII are as per the directives of the Board.

3. Promotion Criteria:

A. For Classes LKG & UKG : The Students will be assessed and promoted to the next higher class on the basis of the continuous and comprehensives evaluation (CCE). The details of CCE are provided at the time of Orientation program.

B. For Classes I - IX & XI :

i) Promotion to the next higher class is considered on the review of the year's performance of the students, as per the weightage given below:

a. Monday Tests - 20 %

b. 1st Terminal Examination ( in September) - 20%

c. 2nd Terminal Examination (in March) - 60%

ii) A minimum of 40% marks is required to be scored in all the subjects for being declared pass.

iii) Promotion to the next higher class is granted on review of the overall performance of the students in the whole academic year.

4. Attendance:

A. It is compulsory for every student to complete 85% of attendance in an academic year in order to make himself/herself eligible to appear at his/her final examination. Leave on account of illness etc. is also considered as absence for this purpose and no relaxation is granted in such cases.

B. Attendance is compulsory on the following days: ( in addition to regular classes)

i) School Founder's Day

ii) Independence Day

iii) Republic Day

iv) Annual Function and prize distribution ceremony

v) Annual Sports Meet and all the days on which games are held.

vi) Any other School function/day deemed important by the school.

No leave is granted for those days and the defaulters would be fined @ Rs.50
